Who should attend?
Employees who have a responsibility for the monitoring of a premises' fire safety infrastructure and providing leadership and assistance, either as a member of a team or as a manager, during a fire emergency evacuation.

Conformance Legislation:
The Fire Precautions (workplace) regulations 1997 and amendment 1999 and The Health and Safety at Work Regulations.

Aims:
To promote good fire safety housekeeping, by instruction in the threat posed by fire. To ensure a clear understanding of the duties and responsibilities of the fire warden in the prevention of a fire outbreak and the action to be taken in the event of such an occurrence. Participants will be able to implement the requirements of current legislation, which mandates specific levels of fire safety training. The fire warden will be competent to undertake the duties as specified in the clients in house fire risk assessment plan.

Objectives:
The objectives of our Fire Warden training are that delegates will have:· Gained confidence in their role through the greater understanding and awareness of fire and fire safety procedures

· Be equipped to execute their responsibilities within your workplace fire safety management procedures.
· Understand why it is essential that fire safety procedures are implemented and monitored on a daily basis.
· Be able to identify and address fire hazards and the threat to people, property and jobs.
· Understand the nature and spread of fire. · Distinguish between different types of extinguishing media and equipment, their limitations and   the classes of fire that they are suitable for.
· Be able to tackle small fires with confidence, including the use of fire extinguishers.

Syllabus Includes:
Workplace Fires - Facts and Figures, Fire safety law,Combustion Principles, Understanding the workplace fire safety plan, Video Presentation, Hazard spotting and reporting deficiencies, Fire drills and evacuation principles "floor sweep", Raising the alarm, principles of people movement and roll call, Detection, fire alarms, extinguishers, hoses, Practical use of fire extinguishers, Signage and EN3, Record keeping, Question and answer session.

Certificate:
Certificate of attendance, valid for 1 year.

Trainers Qualifications
Our trainers are Emergency Services Trained as well as holding qualifications in teaching and assessing. They have many years practical experience of first aid. Our fire safety course leaders are Fire Service trained at the Morton-in-March Fire College and have extensive experience in the field of domestic and commercial fires. Their training is internationally recognized and undergoes continual assessment from the British Fire Brigade.
